Code of Ethics
Outlined below is the code of ethics from Light Minds Collective. This set of principles are based on our core values and standards. Our code of ethics set out our ethical guidelines and best practices to follow to ensure
honesty, integrity and professionalism within your coaching sessions.
Light Mind Collective’s Code of Ethics:

The coach always conducts themselves to the highest level of ethics, honesty, integrity and accountability.

All clients and potential clients are treated with respect, confidentiality and equality.

A contracting agreement is set out prior to the commencement of any services.

Keep records of your work with clients and ensure it remains confidential, stored securely and it complies with GDPR requirements.

Maintain professional boundaries with all clients.

Represent a true level of competence and experience in order not to mislead or misrepresent yourself.

Be mindful of and remove any power or status difference between the client and coach that may be caused by cultural, relational, psychological or contextual issues.

Assure quality of coaching sessions regardless of the amount or form of agreed compensation in any relationship.

Don't make claims of outcomes that cannot be guaranteed.

Monitor the quality of my work through client feedback and other appropriate professionals.

Ensure I disclose to my client that you aren't a professional mental health specialist and if a client's issue seems out of my scope, refer them to a mental health specialist.

Respect the absolute rights of the client's confidentiality except as expressly permitted by the client or potential client in writing.

Refrain from offering professional advice that you may be misleading or where the accuracy is beyond your scope to assess.

Set appropriate and culturally sensitive boundaries to govern your coaching interactions.

Do not engage in sexual or romantic engagement with clients.

Ensure I take appropriate action to address this issue or cancel the engagement.

Ensure I am fit and healthy enough in the coaching session. If I am not, offer alternative support for my client or rearrange the session.

Ensure I continue to develop professionally in both theory and practice of coaching.

Avoid coaching minors (people who have not yet had their 18th birthday) without the express written consent of parent, guardian or teacher as appropriate.

Respect the client point during the process.

Ensure that all advertisements and promotional materials, whether verbal or written, are legal, decent, truthful, honest and in compliance with the requirements of the UK Advertising Standards Authority.
